About Riverside Counselling

Hi, I’m Julia, the owner-operator of Riverside Counselling.

I provide support to people from all walks of life to address their concerns and improve their well-being.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, ensuring to meet you where you are and honour your experiences.

My professional background is in special education teaching, specifically teaching students with complex mental health diagnoses. The joy of finding effective solutions to unique challenges has translated into my counselling career: here you will find a collaborator who accepts your reality and context, while working with you to find new ways to approach life’s challenges. I take a neuro-affirming, queer-inclusive approach.

At Riverside Counselling it’s understood that chronic illness can have a multi-faceted impact on well-being; here you will receive relevant care that does not undermine the reality of your situation. For those who are taking illness-mitigating measures, such as COVID precautions, this is a safe space to receive support where your concerns will be taken seriously.

I celebrate the unique dynamics of each relationship and I’m ready to support you with effective relationship counselling, whether you are monogamous, non-monogamous, a relationship anarchist, or into another style of connection.

Support is also available to those experiencing loss, grief and change, helping you to adapt and move forward while staying connected to what matters most.

If you have questions or want to learn more about the support available, please don’t hesitate to reach out via the contact form so that together we can find your path forward.
